Charged R8.77 per sms

So this was my review I wrote on 22 September. MTN has failed to resolve it. The ref number given in their response doesn't exist on their systems. I'm up for an upgrade, so guess who's moving to Vodacom.

I was charged R8.77 per SMS while in the US, for 55 SMSes. They are listed on my itemised billing under 'National SMS Calls', so sent within SA. All were sent to my wife that was with me in the US, so that's not possible. Only feedback I got from Mtn was that I'm liable for the charges with no clarity (ref ********** ).
On my billing I was charged R1.10 under 'Roaming Events', which is correct. I need an explanation as I can't be on 2 different continents at the same time.

Thank you for your post

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced with our service.

Please be advised that the SMSs sent whilst roaming were charged based on the rates from the roaming cellular network operator to South Africa and the Roaming SMS Rate to South Africa was app****. Kindly refer to the link below:

We sincerely hope that the above is in order and that we are able to restore your faith in us.

Kind Regards

You are still wrong. In the attached link under "Standard Rates" your SMS rates in the USA are R5.00 (which is already ridiculous). Under "Roaming Rates" it states SMSes in the USA are R1.25.

Oh, and btw, I've never requested MTN to activate my international roaming. Only SMS roaming.

But don't bother, I'll just sign up with Vodacom.
