CHARGED FOR SERVICES NOT RENDERED
I recently wrote to complain about MTN on Hello Peter regarding me requesting a cancellation of my 3G on the 21st of December 2015 (The expiry date of my contract). I wrote to them on the 4th of November 2015, the 8th of November 2015, they finally responded on the 17th of November 2015 asking me to confirm my details and that all data and airtime would be forfeited on the cancellation of the service, I then confirmed all the necessary details. They confirmed this on the 20th of November 2015. I hear nothing more from them until I receive an invoice on the 1st of January 2016 for services rendered. On querying it they tell me the request to cancel and go onto prepaid was only received after the 1st of January 2016. Blow me down seriously they have been replying on my November email and yet they are adamant. I am very angry that after the new credit act the consumer is still not protected against companies who think they can debit a consumer and then consumer has to fight for their money back. Retentions are absolutely useless and keep replying the same message WHEN THEY DO BOTHER TO RESPOND!!!! I AM STILL WANTING A REFUND ON MY MONEY TAKEN OFF MY ACCOUNT!<br>

Kindly note that the matter has been investigated. On the 20-11-2015 a request was sent to you to contact retentions department after the contract termination date which was the 22-12-2015 as migrations can only be done once the 24 months has elapsed . The invoice is valid as it was an invoice that ran from the 01-12-2015 to the 22-12-2015 (which was the end date of the contract). The debit order that went off on the 15-01-2016 was for the period of 01-12-2015 to the 22-12-2015.
