Charged for router and SIM that I never connected to

MTN charged me for a router attached to a month to month contract for their uncapped home deal that I NEVER used due to a technical error. I never connected it but was debited the router amount.

I am not happy with this as I reported that I could not use the data that I paid upfront for and will probably bin the router as it is useless to me. To add to that they turned the contract into pre-paid without my consent.

This is grossly unfair and does not amount to treating a customer fairly.
