On the 3rd November 2017, my dad cancelled the contract. But it wasn't done and so we had to cancel it again on the 8th November. The airtime was lost but we were glad to be finished with the contract. Today, 1st December, the full monthly contract amount was deducted from my dad's bank account. When he phoned Customer Care, he was told that because we cancelled after the 7th November, he was being billed. Billed the full amount! No pro-rata amount! And no airtime! And billed for MTN's incompetence! It's nothing less than theft. When questioned about the airtime, he was told to go to an MTN shop and do a sim swop in order to get the airtime back. But as the number is being ported to another service provider, this won't be possible. So the customer, a pensioner, loses again. MTN has no ethics and no care for the customer. **************** at its best.
