Cellphone insurance ****med

Cellphone insurance taken on my cellphone contract, not aware of it. I wanted to cancel, but taken from pillar to post. I have to get authorization from someone in the claims department before it can be canceled. I did authorize it, why must get authority from someone for cancelation. Paying for a service I'm not using.
