Cellphone insurance

I just found out that MTN took out an insurance for my phone on my behalf as the phone was on contract but as soon as my contract expired after 2 years i was under the impression that the insurance will be cancelled, i got a shock of my lift today when i was told by 24 mobility insurance that they are still deducting money for the cellphone i had 3 years ago and i dont even use it anymore. i find it strange that MTN took the insurance on my behalf without my knowldege, i am so upset right now that i have been losing R95 per month for 2 years and for what.

Hello khanyecn,

Thank you for your post,

We apologise for the delayed response and for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Please note that insurance is offered to all our customers and it is only loaded once the customer has consented. Also note that once insurance is loaded the customer recieves policy information as well. It is also the responsibility of the customer to inform the insurance company if they do not wish to continue with the policy.

Thank you
