Cellphone contract upgrade unsuccessful

I went for my cellphone contract upgrade at MTN in the Middelburg Mall store code: 0471 which was up to date unsuccessful.

After a lot of struggle to receive feedback on the process of the upgrade the phone was by the lady's consume already delivered to me, but I did not received any phone.

In the meantime I went in to the store again to cancel the contract completely of which they said it's cancel now.

On the 12/12/2017 the store manager showed an email confirming that the contract has not cancel yet.

As a result I don't want to cancel the whole contract as I want to remain my cellphone number, I just want my upgrade phone that I'm paying as from the actual upgrade date and don't get to have anything for the money already paid.

I would appreciate if you can clear up this case in solving my problem.
