Cell phone service MTN/Samsung

New cell phone contract with MTN in February 2016. I have been with MTN for years.

This contract was taken with Herm**** MTN Supplier.October 2016 phone kept cutting out. I thought it was an operator error. In December 2016 I took the SAMSUNG J1 to MTN. I was told by a lady called VIDA that the factories were closed and must bring it back on the 6th January 2017.

I took the phone in on the 9th January 2017. MTN is 35 kilometers from where I live.

MTN phoned me on Sunday 22nd January to say my phoned had been repaired. By mid February it was cutting out again. I was booting my phone 4/5times a day. Back to MTN 18th February 2017 only to be told, you can't bring repairs in on a Saturday - only Mon - Fri. I pointed out to this rather unplesant young woman that I had driven 35 kilometers just to take the phone back. With a lot of attitude the woman took muy phone. This process took over an hour. I mentioned at this stage that I thought the phone should be replaced. This was ignored and I was told it would only be picked up on a Wednesday 22nd February. On the 2nd March 2017 I phoned and was told by a woman called VIDA it takes 12 working days. I said, I believe the phone should have come back today. I said I was very unhappy about the phone, and felt they should loan me a phone. Her comment was the phone were not their probklem, they only supoply the sym card. I am wondering why I signed a contract with them - MTN was whom I signed the contract with for this specific phone, the sym card was from my previous phone.

I phoned again on the 6th March only to be told the phne was there. Nobody had phoned me to say my phone was ready. It would appear it came back on the Wednesday when I had phoned on the 2nd March. This time I was helped by a very nice coloured man. I fell MTN need to give their staff training in how to handle customers, and not treat them like dirt. Today the 10th March my phoned has started cutting out again. I phoned MTN to tell this was the end they really must replace the phone. The lady who answerred said, they don't replace phone more than 6 months old. I must just take it in and they will send it back again. She said they will keep sending it back until my contract is up. I have paid my monthly debit for the phone and for the past 2/3 months I have only had about a week service.

I hope you can help me with this problem. The phone is supposed to go back in tomorrow.

Pauline Bramhall
