CCI/ Umhlanga PTY LTD/ MTN contract deal
I took out a contract that included a HP laptop, a ZTE router that was supposed to come with a 2GB data deal. I recieved my order however with the router came 3 sim cards instead of 1 with an invoice dated 03/02/2020. I have had issues trying to configure the router for a while now, not being sure if the router was the problem or the sim card (I tried with all 3). I tried putting my own sim in the router and I am still having issues so I think i just can't configure the router properly. I also tried putting the MTN sims in my phone but they also said the service has been suspended. I resorted to calling MTN, hoping to get in touch with tech support so they can assist, also querying the issuing of the 3 sim cards instead of 1. The customer care agent told me that under my name was 3 contracts, the laptop with router and sim for R208.44, and the 2 extra sims were seperate contracts which included 1GB night and day data @ R69 each. This week I have made several calls and I cannnot resolve this issue with them directly as the contract was done through Umhlanaga PTY LTD (their subsidiary) the ones who initially called to offer the contract through MTN and they have been trying to be putting me through to CCI with no avail. It is frustrating as this is 1. NOT what i had agreed to with for the contact, 2. They debited R470.44 instead of the R299 they had mentioned, 3. despite payment, the sim cards are still suspended! It is another month end and they probably will still debit regardless of their poor service. I was assited by a very patient lady from the MTN customer care line, Phindi (MTN ***) who has tried to put me through but she just could not get through as well. PLEASE assist!
