Care is a loose term if you deal with MTN Customer Care

I have a contract with MTN ********** 197 and took out INSURANCE as the consultant suggested that this was a brilliant option! When the phone started to do strange things, we took it to MTN who put us in touch with their insurance assessors. They collected the phone. 2 weeks after chasing it, we got an sms to say that the phone was not repairable (the cost of repair out-weighed replacement). They gave us a number for a call centre. The call centre have a MACHINE that directs you and supposedly is also responsible for the countless times one is cut off! I went back to the MTN store - I will even pay in the excess there and then if there is - please help! The consultant sends an email to someone at MTN INSURANCE, and to date no-one has bothered to get back to us - its been about 8 weeks in total !!!!!!! Why are we buying insurance???? Its a rip-off of note! And I'm sure the CPA should be following up on this.

Many thanks Mike - we received the letter to collect another phone. Unfortunately the shop does not have stock, and the price of a replacement is a further R500 apart fromt he excess of R350 ! but the shop is trying to see if they can get stock from elsewhere, so that we can collect this and finally put this behind us.
Thank you for escalating the matter further.
