Can't cancel my MTN contract

MTN are quick to always phone with deals and make it extremely easy to upgrade online but once your contract is up you can not get hold of them to cancel it you hold on for 30 mins with no one answering how else am i suppose to cancel my contract as i know by emailing them nothing will happen ?
