Cannot report ***** to MTN.
***** has been found on my 79 year old grandfather's phone account. Neither him, nor my grandmother (70) are computer literate. So the burden falls on me.
My grandfather's phone was blocked when when my gran spent money (she does not drive) to travel to Brentwood MTN Store, they advised her that there is someone in Durban that has committed ***** on the account.
She was then sent from pillar to post to get statements from the bank and make a statement at the police station with an Avidavit and then a certified copy of my grandfather's ID, and all of these trips cost money. We handed all this in and have not heard anything since. Then another transaction was attempted, but this time we got the SMS.
This morning MTN Debited more than their pension amount R21 690.76 from my grandfather's account, even though we reported it in store and on email.
So I decided to call MTN, from my Vodacom phone, once again spending money on getting their nonsense sorted. I had to handle IVR questions for over 3 minutes and I am advised I need to speak to a service champion to report *****. Then I am asked to tap 0 to speak to a service champion, when I tap 0 there is no delay and I am told I did not make a selection and I need to try again later. I did this several times.
MTN will not let me report *****. I expect MTN to call ME to sort this out, NOT my grandparents. My guess is they will not.
