Cannot get Prepaid nr sim swap done.

We have 2 prepaid nr, both of which were ****** in a smash and grab. when we went to get sim swaps, we were asked "security" questions that we don't know the answers to, such as when last did we recharge, how much data, how much airtime etc.....questions that we tried to answer but failed to do so questions that don't stick in ones mind and are pretty arbitrary. now we cant get those numbers back. the Nicol way MTN advised to get an affidavit from the police. we said we had a case nr, but they said no,, we need to get an affidavit indicating we give MTN permission to give us those numbers back......this does not make sense, anyone can get an affidavit. Despite, we had an ID book, and access to another phone with an MTN sim linked to the same name, they said we are still not identifiable unless we answer these questions.
