Cannot cancell your contract with MTN.

I cancelled my contracts due to them **********ly upgrading my contract without my consent and then they started charging me more for the so called upgrade that I did not requested. I ended both my contracts with MTN. My Phone in 2016 and my Tab in 2017. After receiving confirmation that both contracts have been cancelled they are still billing me. After numerous phone calls and visits to MTN Stores, I still have no success. Now they have a debt collector after me to collect the outstanding money. I owe them nothing as the contracts have been cancelled. I cannot get rid of MTN. I don't want to be associated with such a bad company. Can you please assist.

Thank you for your post.

We sincere apologized for any inconvenience incurred.

Thank you for your email. Please see the response from the legal department:

Please be advised that although client gave notice to cancel the sim card was continually used by client which left balance of R2139.55 with credit given of R733.92 for late cancellation.

Please make payment for R2139.55 for the legal department to clear the status.

Please send the proof of payment to ***

Bank: ABSA
Form: ABSA DEPOSIT SLIP/DEPOSITO STROKIE
Beneficiary Name: MTN SP
Beneficiary Account Number: ***
Branch Code: 632005
Deposit Reference: Your MTN cell phone number or your MTN account number. C***

Only one of the above mentioned reference numbers must be entered on the deposit slip. That will ensure correct allocation of payments to your MTN SP account unless incorrectly received on bank statement.

How could the sim card be used it was migrated to a pay as you go card in 2016 already as per your mail to me (Dated 23 Jun 2016 - Ref no.: ********** 9) that it was cancelled on 21-08-2016. MTN kept on billing me for the contract after the contract was cancelled and the card was migrated to a pay as you go. The statement that I continually used the phone is a lie as I received a company phone and I did not use the phone after that. Even if I used it it was a pay as you go so there should not have been any charges. Please reverse the R2139.55
