Cannot cancel MTN contract

I have been trying to cancel my South African MTN contract from overseas since January 2024. I have sent repeated emails, 15 in total with no success. They either keep requesting the same information or start the process all over again. At one point I managed to confirm a cancellation fee of R10,527 which was paid on 07/02. Then another cancellation fee of R1,976 which was paid on 29/02. Yet, money is still being debited off my account every month. On 02/07 tried to change strategy and reached out on X (Twitter). 13 messages later they keep saying they will get back to me. No end in sight.
