DO NOT UPGRADE YOUR MTN CONTRACT OVER THE PHONE, IT IS A THIRD PARTY AND YOU WOUN'T BE ABLE TO CANCEL IT.
I was phoned by an MTN representative on the 15th to upgrade my cellphone contract as it was about to expire. I went through the upgrade process for a 10GB for R150. Few days later I get 4x account authentication failed messages and then and then an authentication success sms. I get a message that my out of bundle MTN limit is set to R5400! I go to a store and ask for a printed account statement. My debit order was changed to R1550 a month! Instore the staff told me this was the wrong amount but they couldn't change it, i need to do this over the phone. Called the MTN help line and they also couldn't cancel it because it was a 3rd party, Cellnet or something. They gave me the 3rd parties number, phoned it, number doesn't exist. Then they gave me a new number ***, No answer. Truecalled says it is not Cellnet but EHUB NEW. Phoned MTN helpline to cancel it, they couldn't cancel it because it is a 3rd party. *** am i suppose to do now!!!??? Why is MTN giving client number to *********** 3rd parties and can't fix the mess the 3rd party creates. I JUST WANT TO CANCEL THIS ****** MTN CONTRACT BEFORE THE 14 DAY CANCELLATION PERIOD EXPIRES.
