Cannot cancel debit order on expired contract

To all those who may think of getting a contract with MTN. My 2 year contract expired 11 April 2015 but I was told by the mtn shop that the contract and the associated debit order will continue until I cancelled the contract myself. What an absolute mission impossible. I have tried and spent about R100 on cell phone costs trying to get through to someone to cancel the contract. All mtn numbers ***, ***, *** and customercare are useless as you cant get through (yesterday cost me at least 1 hour of my time) . Ok so today I am going to try to cancel the debit order at the bank. All internet options for mtn also do not address contract cancellations. Good luck to anyone with an mtn number who has a problem - you are in for a long wait of no service delivery but unstoppable extraction of your monies. Not sure if Vodacom is better but unbelievable that a business can be run, contracts made BUT no customer service
