cannot cancel contract

I had a MTN data sim which I no longer need. The SIM has gone out of contract last year and I tried to cancel it. The Ref No. given to me is ***. However despite cancelling, the money is still going off my account. The MTN shops do not want to help me either, telling me to call 135. Now I cannot get through to 135!
