Cancelling of contract and call centre
My 24 months 2GB data contract expired about 2 months ago. However MTN keeps taking money from my account and not just the amount that I used to pay but including a price increase. I do not recall to have ever agreed to keep the contract running beyond the contract termination date.
So I tired to find an option to cancel my account with them online at [URL Removed] I can locate my personal information but no option to cancel anything. So I try calling them. While holding for a consultant I get cut 3 times. The fourth time I'm now holding for 58 minutes and ongoing. It is impossible to get through to them.
I know that if you go to the branch you will likely cue for a very long time only to hear from an employee that they cannot do the cancellation for you as one needs to call them to cancel. Where is the logic in that? How can you have people employed for you but don't give them the power to cancel a contract?
I am totally fed up with MTN. There is NO customer service and products are totally overpriced. I think there is a strategy to make it most difficult for customers to cancel contracts so that they get fed up and rather keep it running. I will never support them again!
