Cancelled Roaming after specific instruction not to

I recently upgraded BOTH my contract phones and gave the sales lady at MTN Irene mall specific instructions not to change any setting with regards to my Roaming Services or Credit limits as I do travel abroad quite often and use the roaming services a lot. Needless to say, I'm now in a foreign country and are not able to make or receive any phone calls nor send or receive any messages because MTN just went ahead and cancelled my roaming after I specifically requested not to.

Every time there is a issue when I upgrade! They either change my limits as it suits them, or deactivate my roaming and every time it is such a struggle to get it resolved. I'm now in a foreign country and my business is directly affected. Only way I can communicate is through e-mail with very pour internet connection as I am up in Africa.

I have sent a request to customer care / support and only a day later received a reply, Ref. No. # ********** 8, provided the required info and a day later no reply. Needless to say I've been without a functioning phone for 4 days now and I can contact client and family and by business is taking a direct hit.

I really don't know why I am still using MTN as a service provider. The moment I get back to S.A I will definitely take this up with my legal council an cancel both contracts and make sure I get refunded for all the costs I've incurred due to their stuff up. I will specifically also take this up with MTN Irene as this is where I did the renewal of my contract / upgrade.

Thanks MTN for yet again another bad experience and not caring about one of your long standing clients.

Hi Kabelo, Yes I am aware. As I had to do everything possible from my side to get it resolved. After a long struggle I actually contacted Irene Mall Management to get their help to just get in touch with someone at the MTN store as the e-mail address on the website was incorrect and of course I was not able to phone anyone and the response from MTN customer service was pathetic. Management at the mall put me in touch with the MTN store manager who in turn then resolved the issue for me. I'm still not sure what had happened and what they did to resolve the problem, only thing I know is that the manager said she reset my roaming options on the network, about an hour and 30min later I was able to make and receive calls again. I'm still not happy and just a: "We apologize for the inconveniences that you have experienced. We completely understand the frustration it causes." is not good enough from me. Every time it's the same story, MTN / employees deliver bad service and I the client suffer and then after a long mission it's resolved and I just get a "Oh sorry"
