Cancelled my contract but still being debited

I cancelled my Cellphone contract with MTN Retensions and paid my outstanding balance in full and sent the prrof of payment.I then contacted customer care within 48hrs to do the cancellation.

They moved my number to Prepaid but now I am still being debited my usual contract amount and still receiving data and airtime?

I have tried calling customer care that keeps transfering me to the retensions department but no one there picks up the phone and my query keeps being unresolved!

MTN needs to do my cancellation properly and Refund me of my debit done 1st December 2016. They also need to make sure they dont debit me again or els they will hear from my lawyer.

Hi Kevin,
Thank you for the reply. I will appreciate if you can credit the money owed to me into my bank account and also make sure my account is not debited again next month.
Kind Regards,
