Cancellation of contract

My cellphone contract with MTN ended on the 17 September 2016 however it's been impossible to cancel it. I started to make arrangements to call their call centre to make sure i convert the number to pre paid as early as 2 Sept 2016 (call ref: ********** 00). On the 19 & 20 September, i spoke to different agents (maybe 6 )regarding my query but each time we dont agree on the payment part, the call deliberately get cut ober 2016. My initial call on the 2 Sept, i spoke to Kelly Marais, who then transferred me to her supervisor Horasio. I explained my situation and Horasio told me that on the 15 Sept my bank account will not be debited and as soon as i receive my monthly allocation, i should not use it as they (MTN) will then reverse that monthly allocation for me not to owe them. Today, the 21 Sept, i paid R279 which was "supposed" to be debited and subsequent to that i received a call from Lilian there is another amount that i still owe. For the life of me, i dont know how i owe MTN yet they still dont want to cancel my contract and convert the number to pre paid. As far as i know, my relationship with MTN contract ended on the 17 sept and i dont know why i need to pay additional amounts . To this day, the allocation that i was told will be reversed is still on my phone.

Thank you for your response but I somehow think you are missing a point here. One of your own employee(Horasio) advised me differently. I am willing to pay that R11.40 but not any cent more. Whatever you are telling is news to me. Horasio informed me that the data, minutes & sms will be returned to you and that is what im expecting to happen since my relationship with you(of contract) ended on the 17 Sept 2016.
Why should i be held liable for the missinformation from your employee?
