Cancel the damn contract!

Morning,

Kindly note that I have been informed that the contract I was canceling on the 14th of December 2023 has not been canceled even after receiving confirmation via sms after the call, i have been advised that the it has been moved to a month to month arrangement.

Can someone explain to me why is it such an extreme sport to cancel a contract when the time comes?
