Cancel Contract
To whom it may concern: I have been with MTN for many years and I have never had a problem until now. For the past 2 weeks I have been trying to cancel my MTN contract. I have gone into the MTN store, was advised to call 808 and then cancel my cell phone contract over the phone. Before work, during my lunch and on my tea time I would call the 808 number. Only to hold on for 30 minutes listening to the hold music. I then went into the MTN office in Kenilworth Centre and was told that they no longer cancel your contract in store it is only done over the phone. I told the unfriendly lady that I was unable to get through and was constantly on hold without speaking to anyone. She then advised it could take 30 – 45 minutes before anyone answers the phone. Really? A call centre that allows their paying customers to hold for 30 – 45 minutes? How disgusting is this? Why can’t I go into a MTN store and cancel my contract with the assistant? Why would you allow your paying customers to hold for this long? Why is there not sufficient staff to assist your customers? Is there anyone at MTN that can assist me with cancelling my MTN contact, allowing me to go onto prepaid?
