Call Centre seems Faulty

I recently lost my phone and need to blacklist my phone ASAP.
I went to a branch and they informed me that they could not blacklist it from the branch (not sure why this is?) and I had to get hold of the call centre to do it.

I have tried calling various numbers but the main one is 0831 808 (as I am calling from a Telkom landline). It asks me to enter my cellphone number, which I then do and follow it with a #, the automated response repeats the number and asks me to confirm that it is correct and press 1, which I do. It then says that it isn't a valid MTN contract number and loops back through to me entering the number and confirming it is correct and then it repeating that it isn't valid and then looping again.

This is really irritating and frustrating as I need to have it blacklisted and I need to provide the police with the relevant details so that I can claim from insurance.

I have sent an e-mail to the customer care address in the meantime, however it will most likely take a couple of days before I get a response.

This is rather urgent, please could someone from MTN get hold of me to sort this out.
