Broken Promises

I was assured that I would be able to port my number a month into the contract before I signed my contract with MTN. I now apparently can't port my number and won't be able to until the end of the contract. The franchise store where I began my contract have been emailing head office and have not received replies. MTN is not replying to any of my emails. I've called the MTN call centre on numerous times and haven't manage to talk to someone. None of my countless emails to MTN have been rep**** to.

I was porting my number from a cell c contract. Once the contract ended, the number was moved to prepaid and I tried to port (as instructed to in store). MTN then cancelled my contract SIM number and I was told in store that I would have to purchase a new contract sim. I haven't bought the contract SIM as I do not want a second phone number. My number has been ported to an MTN prepaid SIM and we are waiting from someone from MTN to get back to us. IT'S NOW BEEN 3 WEEKS.

I believe that I signed the contract under false pretenses. Both myself and my lawyer believe that I may take my now used cellphone back to the store and remove the debit order from my bank account.

Hello Brent Hazell,

Thank you for taking the time to write to us via the Hello Peter website. We apologize for the inconveniences caused.

According to our records, a new line with a new number was created. In order to port, we would have to re-do the application with the correct number.

Rest assured, it is not our intention to displease you. We look forward to your understanding.

Kind regards,
MTN SA

Best regards,
