Boza network bossing me to stay
I have been with MTN for 19 years. I noticed my contract price went up late last year and when I called to find out, I was told there has been a price increase which I never received communication on, and this was just over a year into my contract. On the 7th of February I phoned MTN and spoke to Nomfundo to migration my line to a prepaid and she informed me it was done and gave me this *** before transferring me to Ashwin, when I got to Ashwin, he advised that it was done and should wait 2 days for the transition. I was advised to deplete all my airtime to which I did. On Monday upon realizing that I was still on contract, I called the call center again and this time was met by the most *********** agent who told me my request was for a sim swap. I asked to be transferred to retentions and the lady I spoke to said they – at retentions do not have access to make any changes from their side and I should go to the branch, she also mentioned I was migrated to a new system that no one knows how to use but the branched. I went to the Northgate branch – inside the mall and was advised they do not have the new system – I think its called IYANUKA then went to the outside branch and they were as shocked as I was that retentions sent me to them I was at the branch for about an hour trying to sort this out. The manager stepped in to assist and was later given a reference number which I was advised it an escalation number ***9. At the branch I was advised of an early cancellation fee of R423.68 and when I tried to pay, I was told not to by the manager and he assured me someone from escalations will call me to confirm once everything was done which should not be longer than a day. I then called retentions with the escalation number to which I was advised yet again that they are just there to do nothing as they can’t do anything on their system. I was again referred to the branch. I then went to the Randburg branch to which I was yet again advised they don’t have the system and cant assist. Last night at 22:59 stating I was on prepaid. Its halfway through the day and have not been able to make nor receive any calls. When I called I was told it would be sorted in 2 hours and its about 4 hours now and still nothing. I tried to port the number to another network and was advised MTN rejected the request today saying my line is still on contract. Am at the point where I have no idea what else to do.
