Blackberry 9720 & MTN - Not a good combo

I had a contract upgrade last April. Always been happy with both BB and MTN, so naturally I wanted another BB. Had a look @ the BB9720 and I was happy with what it offered. BIG MISTAKE. now, 10 months later I'm sitting with a piece of junk that MTN wont even repair, because their T's & C's give them a way out. The phone reboots whenever it feels like: in the middle of a call, when trying to take a photo, browsing FB, BBM. whatever. Googled to check if I can find if other pple have similar issues, and guess what. Common problem. This started 4 months ago. thought it might be the battery, bought a new one. still no luck. took it in to MTN today and after waiting for @ least 45 minutes in the queue, I'm told by an arrogant, rude consultant that I must bring a POP and the charger with or else it'll be treated as an out of warranty repair. And then he askes if the phone fell at any time, I am honest and say yes and he says this automatically means it's out of warranty. ***. I don't want a new phone, all I want is a phone that can be used. as a mobile phone!! don't worry about the phone that fell, just do something about the rebooting and switching off. Cant wait for my contract to end.

Hello Oomskie,

Thank you for your post.

We are sorry to have disappointed you with our service and would like to assure you that we do strive to provide the best service at all times.

Would you kindly book the handset at your nearest MTN store for a technician to assess why the phone is rebooting and switching off.

We understand that the entire experience must have been very frustrating and hope that we can restore your faith in us

Thank you.
Kagiso
