I have had my blackberry for 7 months and have never dropped it in water or spill any liquid on my phone. the charging stopped working but the screen, the mouse and the button was still working fine so i send it off for repairs as it is still under warranty. i get a phone call to say that its liquid damage and i must pay R1800 to have the whole unit repairs but what i dont understand is i have never spill or put in any liquid and now mtn had void the warranty as they says its liquid damage! so i said no dont go ahead with repairing it coz i dont have R1800 to have it fix and now they wont give back my phone till i pay R330 for quote cancellation!!! First of all if it was liquid damage and need to replace the whole unit then the screen, the mouse and the button would of not been working so please tell me how can that be as it was just the charging port that was not working???? Thank you for taking the time to raise your concerns and affording us the opportunity to address the same. Kindly accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused.
HVRC (Repair centre) is guided by the handset Manufacturer's Repair guidelines and in accordance to their standards and mandates. Blackberry Warranty repairs are excluded in the event of cosmetic damage which is physical on handsets, that includes wear and tear which voids the warranty immediately and repairs are chargeable. And you still have to pay that R330.00 even if the phone won't be fixed else the phone will not be released back to you.
We sincerely hope that this is in order and hope that we are able to restore your faith in us.
Kind Regards
