Black Friday flop - Incorrect billing from Black Friday upgrade and now out of pocket
Hello
My query on the pro rata data allocated to my new renewed account refers - the MTN reference number is ***.
- I was due for upgrade in the month of November 2020 on my contract number. - I signed for the upgrade on 26 November 2020 at the Gateway MTN store. The consultant indicated that the offer that MTN was specifically offering me at the time of the upgrade was a 150GB Anytime data + 150GB Night Express for R299pm - I signed up for the upgrade and was hence notified that data will be loaded onto my account at a pro rata rate and I will be charged pro rata according to my contract installment of R299pm. - On the 02 December 2020, I was debited bt MTN for a total amount of R2335.67! I was expecting to be debited no more than R500 for the month including the pro rata data. My bank account went into overdraft and my bank has charged an over draft fee for R90. This incident was totally unexpected - I called MTN on 02 December 2020 querying this debit order of R2335.67. The reference number for the call is ***. - On 02 December 2020 I also called the MTN store consultant who assisted me with the upgrade deal to also raise my concerns. - On 07 December 2020, the same MTN store consultant phoned me and indicated that my MTN account would be credited as there is indeed a problem. However, my MTN account will only be credited in another 21 days and thereafter there is another waiting process to credit my bank account.
I cannot accept this solution! MTN made the mistake of incorrect billing. I want the correct credit amount transferred back into my bank account within the next 24 hours. I cannot wait over 21 days for my bank account to be credited. That is nonsense.
