Black Friday Data Promotion
MTN,
Being clients of yours since the beginning, I am deeply disappointed to say the least.
We decided to signup for the 50GB data promotion on Black Friday. We asked all the questions to make sure that we weren't signing up for something that would not work for us.
We were told that the Data rolls over to the following month as usual which I told the representative which is the main reason we signed up. The only issue we had as told by the MTN representative was that they were informed that the data sim will not work in a phone and only in a router, which we accepted.
All went well at the branch with the friendly help of the MTN representative, but the wait for approval was deeply disappointing, it took over 2 weeks to receive a response.
Eventually once we received an SMS that we were approved and that we could contact the MTN branch, we went to fetch our SIM card. Once everything had gone through and we were done with the branch, we were told by the representative that we must just realize that they were just informed that the black friday data deals data do not roll over to the next month as we were told originally that it does, which is what our main decision was based on.
This is totally unacceptable - our data should only expire after the second month as told by MTN and not monthly. Nowhere did it state this on the adverti*****t for the promotion. If this is the case, please withdraw our contract!
Take note, we are MTN business subscribers and our entire family is with MTN.
Good day James
Thank you for your post.
We apologize for the inconveniences that you have experienced. We completely understand the frustration it causes.
What you can do is return the sim card to the store that signed you up and tell them that you are returning it based on the fact that you were misled. The contract should then be cancelled based on these grounds.
Should you require any further assistance with your account, please write back to us and we will attend to the matter accordingly.
Kind Regards,
