Billing Error and I am held Accountable!

I am disgusted with MTN. In December 2016 I paid an exhorbitant early cancellation fee to get rid one of my numbers early. After dealing with a highly incompetant retentions department which over the course of 3 days gave me 5 differing cancellation figures, we finally agreed on an amount, payment was made and the number terminated.

I was then surprised in January when my debit order did not go off as usual. I called MTN on 808 and questioned why my debit order had not ran. I was told under no ucertain terms that I have paid too much for the cancellation, and hence they did not debit me. I accepted this as reasonable because MTN didn;t seem able to come up with a single relaible figure for cancellation in december.

I was then surprised AGAIN on 28 February 2017 when my line was suspended. And after calling 808 again and speaking to a consultant who didn't listen and his rather abrupt and RUDE manager, I was told that they are "sorry" and I would have to make an arrangement to pay back the "default" on my account. Essentially accusing me of poor conduct and threatening that if I do not pay it I will go to legal and I will ruin my good payment reputation with MTN.

Firstly, to hell with you! I have a debit order facility foe a reason, that being to ensure the right amount owed to MTN is paid on time, every time, and this has been the case for the last 10 years I have been a customer of MTN. If MTN then makes a mistake with their billing I REFUSE to be held accountable for that. Just the same as if a debit order was to bounce on my back account, I would be accountable for the default and interest thereof, I feel MTN should be accountable and pay the penalty for THEIR BILLING ERROR!! I have a VERY strict monthly budget and I cannot afford to have extra charges billed on my account to pay for MTN's BILLING ERROR!

I expect someone with proper descision making authority and with at least some form of common sense to contact me and make this right! DO NOT take my loyalty for granted, I find this HIGHLY offensive. It's not my fault MTN's billing department is incompetant.
