Billed unfairly- *********** MTN staff!

My contract was supposed to have ended by the 14/15th of May. In the beginning of April, I went to MTN store to formally say that I would like to terminate the contract. The consultant told me to call in at customer service to do this which I did. The customer service agent told me that the termination notification is made and that I only had to call in on the 11th of May so that my number could me transferred to pre-paid. When the time came, I tried for 3 days straight and each time customer service would be \currently experiencing a high load of calls". I would hold until there would be network failure and the call cancelled. I then went back to the store where I was told that there was no indication of me terminating the contract. The lady was helpful and 2 days later it was done. However"

Hello TKhal,

Thank you for your post.

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused as result of the breakdown in the service delivery in one of our touch points.

Kindly note the request for the number to be migrated to prepaid was done on the 2015-05-15.The term date for the contract was 2015-05-11. The request should have been submitted on the 2015-05-12 to avoid recurring payments. Since the request was submitted on the 2015-05-15, the May invoice was already opened and the charges for the month incurred.

Our records show that on the 2015-04-18, you were advised to call a day after your termination date (2015-05-12) to request for the migration to prepaid.

You are therefore liable for the amount on the invoice dated 2015-05-13.

Rest assured, it is not our intention to displease you. We look forward to improving on the service delivery to you.

Regards
Lungi
