Billed SIM card that is no longer in use

my wife took out a 2year R120.00 p/m contract for our daughter Our daughter went overboard with the account resulting in a bill of over R3000.00 which was settled with MTN. After a few months of high bills accumulated by our daughter the SIM card eventually was cut up and the phone is in hiding. The card was destroyed in first week of April 2016. Every bill was settled until then.

My my wife visited MTN Menlyn and the assistant picked up that the card was not used since the first week in April and sent a request to the powers that be to sort out/get clarity of why this account is been charged R3700 even though records show no activity on this card. Itemized billing has been requested and still none.

Four months later and we are still receiving a bill of around R3700.00 every month. A rep from MTN called my wife yesterday with regards to non payment and still no answers concerning the R3700 bill. No one is giving us a solid answer.

Please help.

Thank you for your post

We are terribly sorry for the inconvenience that has been experienced as a result of this. We completely understand the frustration it causes.

Please be advised that the account is invoiced on the 13th day of every month and the amount billed is for the charges/usage incurred between the 14th day of the previous month and the 13th day of current invoiced month. The amount of R3728.97that was invoiced on 2016-04-13 was for the charges incurred between 2016-03-14 and the invoice dated 2016-04-13, the debit order for this amount returned unpaid on 2016-06-01.

We sincerely hope that this is in order and hope that we are able to restore your faith in us.

Kind Regards
Siphumezo
