BILLED ON UPGRADED TOP UP CONTRACT
I upgraded in Nov 2014 and agreed on monthly instalments of R249. I made it clear that it should be the same as the previous contract, TOP UP, STRICTLY NO BILLS.
The first debit that went off my account on the 03 January 2015 looked OK, R244.00. On 03 February, instead of 249 they debited R548. I queried this at the branch and the lady who assisted me said it's the upgrade charges. This surprised me, as no one told me about the upgrade charges. I also asked her to check from the system the status of my contract because I had noticed that after work (where I use Wi-Fi) I could still access internet. She said everything looked fine on her side. I asked her if she was sure that the next month I wouldn't get extra charges, she said yes my deduction would be back to the expected R249.
On 02 March I was shocked to see a deduction of R1457. I called the MTN 808 number, I was told that the reason for over deduction is the OPEN LIMIT. Asked for my limit to be closed which they said they did. I logged the query at the branch about these extra deductions and asked them to cancel the debits.
While still in the process of following up my query, they debited R808 but I was expecting no debit.
