Billed for something which they cant explain

Hi there

MTN debited my account in October for a much larger amount than what I am usually charged. When I queried this on 808 they said it was a packet data switch, they said they would send a request for itemised billing on the 02 Nov which I never received. I then enquired again mid Nov and I have still received nothing. I went to MTN's head office in Morningside on Sunday and the consultant confirmed it was for a packet data switch. I found this unbelievable as I purchased a 1GB bolt on the 30th July which expires on the 30 Sep (you get 1GB for free). The data charges were for the month of September which I knew I still had data. The consultant then confirmed that they have changed the expiry date from 60 to 30 days. I have a detailed sms report on what I have purchased as well as expiry dates. I received an sms on the 28th Sep advising that my 1GB bolt will expire in 2 days. I also called 808 again and asked them for some confirmation that was sent to us as clients about the change in expiry date, the consultant said she would send a request to marketing, I still haven't received anything. On the 05 Oct I purchased another 1GB and the consultant said it expires in 60 days.

Hello Nuytenc1,

Thank you for your post.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced with our service.

We have requested for the billing department to validate charge for the extra internet charges on the October invoice.

The itemized billing has been requested and will be send to you once received.

Kind Regards,

Alice van der Merwe
