Billed after termination of 24month contract

MTN in the first instance has billed me as being in arrears after fully paying off my 24month contract and subsequently requesting to be moved to prepaid as I had no intention of renewing my contract. Every month since July I have received sms's notifying me that I'm in arrears and my line will be suspended should I not pay, whereas my statement clearly indicates I owe 0.00

Every time I call in to enquire, Im told the matter has been escalated to retentions. Retentions emails me back with absolutely no help! The last email by retentions and winback promised a response within two business days and a whole week has gone by. MTN has acted in bad faith! They have suspended my line no less than three times, and worst part is that I was in the middle of Job hunting and thus had no choice but to keep my lines open.

I have never received such poor service in my entire life! I cant begin to speak of the inconvenience this has caused in my life...also having to pay money I had not budgeted for. I want my money

Hello ImThatGuy,

Thank you for your post.
We are terribly sorry for the inconveniences that you experienced as a result of this. We completely understand the frustration it causes.

Please be advised that there was usage in your account until invoice dated 13/12/2015 therefore an amount of R 1,650.00 has to be paid for the contract to be cancelled and for you to request the number to be migrated to prepaid.

We would like to assure you that we are actively working to improve our service levels

Regards
