Biggest ******* ruining lives
What can I say about MTN other than they are ********* and *******!!! Being a young person I joined a network that was supposed to uplift me, not pull me down. I opened my contract about 2-3 years ago, I lost my job due to Covid-19 and although it was a struggle I tried to keep up with my payments. In May of 2020 my device was ****** while I was stuck in another province. I reported the theft and my sim card was blocked. When I eventually made it back to JHB I was advised that I needed to bring my account up to date in order to claim from the insurance, which I managed to do with the help of my parents. The claim was put through and I was given a new device, but my line remained blocked. I have been paying since then despite not receiving my benefits as the sim card remained blocked. When the contract was drawing to a close I went to the store and advised them that I want to end the contract as I still had not found employment and had recently found out I was pregnant. Despite going to a store on 3 different occasions to request this contract be ended, and calling the contact center once MTN is still charging me for benefits that cannot be used as the sim card remains blocked for over a year. I fully understand that I am liable for payment until the contract ended, I had a balance of under R300, now I am sitting with a balance of R1970 and being handed over to attorneys and being listed. Come on MTN, what are you charging me for? Minutes and data I CANNOT use with a blocked sim card???? I just had a baby and this is stressing me out and hampering my chances of getting employment. I need someone to assist in resolving this pathetic matter urgently!!! I can be contacted on *** as well as ***
