BEWARE of MTN
The complaint relates to a situation whereby a bill limit and a credit limit for my cell phone contact ***) was in place for R100 on a monthly basis.

During April and May 2015 I received a number unsolicited sms messages from MTN requesting that if I wanted my bill limit to be increased I should respond to the sms's.

The first sms was received on 30 April 2015 and stated that if I would like my credit limit to be increased to R602 I should reply to the sms. - I did not respond.

The second sms was received on 5 May 2015 and stated that if I would like my credit limit to be increased from R1603 to R4176 I should reply to the sms - I did not respond.

The third sms was received on 12 May 2015 stating that the credit limit had been increased.

At the end of May I received an invoice for the amount of R4946 and my service was subsequently suspended. The invoice related mainly to data charges.

I am not sure why these changes were made without my authorisation. I was previously a happy Nashua client for a number of years without any issues.
