Beware MTN Accounting
April 2017 I app**** for a contract to receive 3GB data per month at R209 and signed a debit order for this amount to be deducted every month. June July and Aug MTN helped themselves to R459 (Total 1377.00) Nov R679.40 and Feb R708.49 The total for ten months equals R3600 instead of R2090. I have written to MTN on their "Contact Us" website without reply. My next step will be a registered letter, failing that, it will be court. In addition to this, I left my router (a sim card type) switched on for several days without using any data (I have it for standby purposes) and the entire allowance vanished. I then had to re-activate the account by buying a further 1GB at R260 by visiting the shop , a time consuming pain. Be aware of MTN and their practices which seems to be a trend in the cell phone industry after reading a recent series of complaints on another service provider in a news magazine.
