BECAREFUL WHEN SIGNING A CONTRACT AT MTN

I went to MTN to do an upgrade. After completing 90% of the process I was told I need to approve a Debicheck. I enquired about the amount of the Debicheck as the Debicheck must be approved at your bank by one of the following ways. On the banking app if you have one, or at the ATM or in the bank. The amount that they wanted me to approve was 6 times the monthly contract amount. I asked why must I approve a debit 6 times the contract amount and was told its a credit limit. If it is a credit limit than why must you approve it at the bank. By approving the debicheck you allow MTN to debit your account with 6 times the monthly amount of the contract. Becareful. Should MTN debit you bank account with more than the monthly contract amount the bank will not assist you to reverse the debit as you have authorised it. MTN will have to refund you. Reading the reviews MTN's service is shocking and you may have wait to a long time get the refund.
