Bad service and zero help from any branch

My Samsung s4 phone was insured and was ****** in July 2015.After the drama of 2 months,I eventually got a letter from MTN stating that I must go to any mtn store to get new phone or similar for the value off R6500 and the R1500 access that I need to pay in.Nobody had this phone and after 2 months of trying I eventually gave up as the newer models were R9000 upwards meaning that I would have to pay in R1500 excess plus another R2500 in cash making a total of R4000 to pay in.In any case there is no phone similar to the one that was ****** in this price range.S4 and S5 discontinued.I can get the Samsung s6 cheaper at other reputable stores but MTN forces me to buy from their store so that they can make R1500 from me.I eventually decide that I will take 2 cheap phones to the value of R5000 and pay the R1500 excess but MTN stores tell me that this is not possible as I need to take only one phone.I argue that the phone is a pay as you go s there is no contract. Then the consultants say eish eish and don't know what to do.Now they want me to go to Morningside to try my luck for another 3 hours later. What must I do.I very unhappy with MTN incompetence and anti social behaviour.***

Hello MRN,

We are sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Kindly note the insurance claim that has been approved on your behalf is for the insured amount/device. The terms and conditions of your insurance application is only allows you to get 1 device for the same value.

The Samsung S4 & S5 devices have been discontinued by the manufacturer and all our stores have sold out those devices as the price of these devices were reduced drastically after the S6 and S6 Edge models were released.

Regards
Tim
