Bad service and attitude
I have a contract with MTN which is still under warranty. My phone (Nokia Lumia 925) died on me Saturday night. Today I took it in at branch at the Grove mall since that's where the contract was taken out. The consultant who attempted to assist was Thulane, very arrogant and rude. First thing he told me was I will be held liable if the phone fell or there's some kind of negligence. He then gave me papers with T&c's which I queried the following: I will have to pay R330 if there's no fault found, pay R330 if there was any negligence, pay R330 to get a quotation. I felt really uncomfortable as a contract customer with a phone that's not working that I will have to pay anyway for MTN to assist with the phone. Further reading the T&C's it stated that if you do not want to pay the R330 , MTN does not guarantee bringing back your phone in a state that you brought it in once the technician has dissembled the phone. I then wanted clarity on that statement in which I did not get an answer, I was told if I have issues then I shouldn't book my phone in. I'm really appalled by the way MTN tries to rip customers off and the manner in which their consultants deal with clients & pass the buck.
