Bad service

I just upgraded my son's contract to the S6 which was delivered to me with the new SIM card.

I was told that I just need to insert the new SIM and phone 808 to activate. I was also told if there is a problem with the unit it will immediately be swapped if within 7 days.

1: Now I am told I must go to an MTN branch with my ID to activate the SIM. (I did not have my ID with me when I took it to have the charger checked)

2: The wireless charger does not work. I took it to MTN and they told me that they can not test it at all and I must take it to a Samsung branch. They told me that if it is faulty I must bring it in with the new contract paperwork and then they will SEND IT IN!!! They will not swap it out immediately as promised (please call up the recording from MTN covering these 2 points regarding warranty swap out from when I renewed the contract last Thursday)

I was told I have 7 days to decide to rather cancel the contract/upgrade which I think I will have to go do tonight after stopping at home to get my ID since I have to resort to Hello Peter EACH AND EVERY TIME I upgrade one of my two MTN contracts. I even had to resort to this site when I originally took out my contract

Hello hgbooysengmail.,

Thank you for taking the time to raise your concerns with MTN.

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused as a result of the breakdown in service delivery.

The processes should have been spelled out in detail to avoid disappointment - the activation and RICA process, the return/warranty policy on the S6 - and for this we truly apologise.

Regards
Mary
