Bad Service

Good day,

Trust you are well,

Today I was at mtn enquirying about the account which I thought was settled ,I made the last payment which was due the December last yer contract expired.
I gave the consultant my cellphone number which is ********** 799 related to the contract.

I always received an installment sms for my contract on my ********** 238 number.
The Consultant then informed me that my account was deactivated and handed over to the legal department which I owe R1086.12 .

Then he told me that I needed to request a cancellation form.Dealing with MTN firstpoint in contact I was never informed that I need to request a cancellation after my contract expires.

I believe this unacceptable as MTN called me for a upgrade but not for a cancellation after my contract had expired.

I dont like being charged for what I dont have a clue about and it is reflecting bad on my credit record.

If I knew in advance when to cancel this contract I would have done it.

MTN has not given me written notification or form of notification of my pending expiry of my fixed term contract.
Legally you must give me notice of 40 to 80 Business days before the expiration of the contract.

The Supplier must also include in the Notice: any material changes to the agreement, should the agreement be renewed; as well as the options available to the Consumer in terms of renewal (automatic renewal; termination; fixed-term renewal)

I am very dissapointed ,now have to deal with their attorneys and I am paying for a service which I never used.

Your consultants never inform the client about the fine print first pont of contact with the customer, they just tell you the need to know so that they can close the deal.

I will never take out a contract with mtn again.

Good day Riaan Cloete,

Thank you for your post.

We are terribly sorry for the inconvenience that you experienced as a result of this. We completely understand the frustration it has caused.

Kindly be advised that the client needs to provide notice for cancellation inorder for the contract to be cancelled as per contract terms and conditions. If the contract is not cancelled after 24 months, it will run on a month to month basis.

Rest assured, it is not our intention to displease you. We look forward to improving on the service delivery to you and to restore your faith in us.

Regards,
Ayanda

Good day Ayanda,

Since I will be paying your lawyers for a service which I was billed for but never used?

My simcard is deactivated ,what happens to the money which I pay and the airtime ?

This is very frustrating you need to really win my trust so I can have faith in mtn.

Regards,
Riaan
