Bad Service

On Sa****ay 21 May 2016 I received my monthly airtime of R110 , 25 smses from MTN. At that point I still had 84mb data and R34 airtime left on my phone which was bought the previous day. I did not use my phone on Sa****ay as was on charge, later the evening when I wanted to use my phone the voice prompt advised me that my airtime has been exhausted. I therefore checked my airtime balance and saw that all my airtime and data was gone and immediately contacted the MTN call centre and was advised by the consultant that it would be investigated she also mentioned that she checked and saw that I had not used my phone, had no running apps and only had a subscription for caller tunes at 50 cents per month - Reference number for the call is ***. By Wednesday 25 May 2016 I called again as I still hadn't received any feedback and was advised by Sanele that a refund was requested by herself and reassured me that I would be refunded that same day. Now today, 27 May 2016 I called the call centre once again as I haven't received the refund or any feedback. I spoke to Jabu Ntshandase who had a stinking attitude and made me hold for 20 minutes without any updates during my long hold. He insisted that MTN would not be refunding me as he insists I had running apps with depleted my airtime and data. He was very rude and arrogant and would not listen to my reasoning. How can 3 staff members of MTN be dealing with one query and have 3 different sets of feedback????? This is not my first time taking a complaint to Hello Peter regarding MTN due to their lack of customer service and competence. I demand feedback , I demand my airtime and data that I lost and I demand an apology. If I'm not going to get what I requested for, im taking it further by going to the Ombudsman and I will cancel my contract with MTN. I'm so disappointed in MTN.

Good Day Reny Mehana,

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.

Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused. According to our records your R144.85 airtime was indeed used on the internet at 10:20am on the 21 May 2016. We have also noticed that your package is supposed to include 100mb data bundle every month which was not loaded on the 21 April and 21 May 2016.

For this reason we have sent a request for credit of R145.00 airtime to be refunded back to you. The value of 100mb data bundle is R35 which means you were supposed to be credited an amount of R70 for the two months you didn't receive the bundle.

Rest assured that it is not our intention to displease you and we look forward to continue improving on our service delivery to you.

Kind Regards
Itumeleng
