BAD MTN CUSTOMER SERVICE

Certain individual employees at MTN certainly try to assist, Fazila at the Pavilion is one of those however overall MTN is just shocking. On the 28th July 2020 I phoned to cancel my contract (which expired on the same day). I requested that my number be kept as a prepaid facility. The cancelation was not completed, which I found out a few days later when I got a call to upgrade my contract. First lie told is that their systems are not integrated and she could not see if my contract was cancelled, she then proceeded to laugh and said it was not a problem. I don't see how it is not a problem if my instruction had not been followed, obviously she could not help me any further and that was the end of that call. Tried phoning 135, 24 minutes later and still had not been able to speak to anyone. On the 19 August 2020 I check my airtime and data balances (as I had loaded these thinking my contract had been cancelled) to discover that the monthly values per the original contract had been loaded. Another phone call to 135, 34 minutes in total to be advised that the cancellation had not been completed. Cancellation then completed, instructed that they should withdraw their data and airtime per the contract as I am not paying for it. It gets better, the next day around 1pm I find that my phone is blocked, no calls or smses (whatsapp on wifi only), instructed to RICA the number. Spend over 3 and a half hours at MTN in the Pavilion trying to RICA the number. Some new issue of having exceeded the number of telephone numbers I have RICA'd in the last 10 years. No idea how I have so many telephone numbers but hey, apparently I do! Logic would suggest if a contract on a number is cancelled and the same number then needs to be RICA'd again as it is moved to prepaid then the RICA on the contract should be removed (no wonder I have 10 telephone numbers). If this was the case then their would have been no issue completing the RICA. The next day I am able to make telephone calls etc. and all seems to be in order until the following evening when I am notified by other means that no one can phone me, my number is now incorrect. Phone 135 again, lie 2, no problem on their side. Within minutes after speaking to 135 I can however now receive phone calls. So you think that would be the end, Fazila advised that I needed to contact retentions to address the issue of being billed for the month of August, remember the contract was cancelled but I received the data and airtime. Trying phoning 135 again, forgive me for being angry. Passed through 3 people to get to retentions and then the call is disconnected. Try again. Get through and asked to once again explain the whole story, I am now angry and so instead of just advising of the situation (the matter has supposedly been escalated to retentions and I have given them the reference number) the lady just stops responding to me, she doesn't hang up straight away, so I wait and eventually there it is the click of a dead line. Another 35 minutes waisted. Why should I be billed for a service I cancelled? Why was the cancellation not completed correctly upon instruction and why was I not advised that I immediately needed to RICA the number again or my service would be suspended? Why could I not have the matter of the billing dealt with while in the MTN office for over 3 and a half hours for an error made on MTN's side? Why do MTN representatives feel that it is acceptable to lie to their customers? Why is it that after shocking service no one will just resolve the matter? Why do I once again have to waste more time phoning MTN to resolve this issue?
