I cancelled my MTN contract after 2 years (expiration date) at the end of 2014. I cancelled telephonically and I went into a branch a few months later just to make sure that my contract was cancelled and that everything was sorted. I did not take a new contract and my husband got me a Vodacom contract on his name. Now suddenly, after 3 years, I get an e-mail from a debt collection company saying that my contract is in arrears and that I owe MTN almost R3000 and that I need to make payment for them to activate my account again!! *** MTN?? My contract was cancelled. I have been with Vodacom for 3 years. I'm not going to pay you. I cancelled my contract the right way. Because you did not do your job properly, my credit record is now affected. This is ********* and just plain *******. I am going to take this further.
