BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE
I have just been to the Killarney Mall to enquire about doing a sim swap from a prepaid MTN number to a contract number. I was helped by a Linda who firstly didnt even acknowledge my presence but gave me a blank stare as though I was interrupting her. I explained to her what I needed to do and she basically told me its impossible to do a sim swap at this stage, the store where the phone was bought needed to do that. I explained to her that the phone was bought in East London and its a gift from my Dad who is the contract holder. She just basically told me there's nothing she can do if I wont take the phone to the shop then I have to use the number. I asked her for other options that are available, i.e phoning the call centre or buying a new sim. and once again she gave me a blank stare. I left the store disgusted surely there must be another way to resolving this. In any case I have since asked my Dad to phone MTN cancel the contract, I think there will be an alternative service provider who will give me a far better service than this. Im also in the process of moving my pay as you go to another network, i think i have been loyal for too long and most times all i get is bad servic
Thank you for your post.
We are terribly sorry for the inconveniences that you experienced as a result of this. We completely understand the frustration it causes.
Kindly note that if you wish to convert you prepaid number to a contract sim you will have to go into any store to apply for the contract and advise them that you wish to have a Number For Line. If the contract is going to be under your father's name then he must apply himself, so that he can sign the documents.
Thank you
