Autopage to MTN Debacle

My contract with Autopage was unfortunately migrated to MTN.

As a contract (not prepaid) customer, with over 10 years of credit history with Autopage, MTN decided to impose both credit and data limits on my contract (that are so low) that it ensures that I am unable to make calls or access data after the 15th of each month.

I have called Customer "Service" 3 times to try to understand why, as a contract customer, I now have call and data restrictions, or the basis on which these credit assesments (and limits) were reached, but it seems that the consultants are unable to understand the issue, let alone attempt to rectify them.

I subsequently went to visit the MTN store in sandton city - with the hope that a face to face discussion might make this process easier. But no, I was told that in order to rectify issues such as these, I need to call Customer Service.

When I asked how I go about cancelling my contract, I was met with the same response...............

I am yet to hear from MTN subsequent to my post and the response above.

Since I had no alternative but to go to a MTN branch to try to get assistance, I went to MTN Morningside. I would like to give credit to Sophie Letswalo, who spent 2 hours with myself, and my husband, sorting out all of the issues with our MTN contracts. She was friendly, helpful and provided us with her contact details to assist us subsequently, which she did. Sophie saved MTN two customers, who were prepared to cancel their contracts before she assisted us.

Thank you, and well done Sophie Letswalo.
